Accurate scale model of the KC Wheel for Dutch Wheels – technical masterpiece for trade show presentations

For Dutch Wheels, 3D Maquettes developed a highly detailed and technically refined scale model of the iconic KC Wheel in Kansas City. This scale model was specifically designed for trade shows and product demonstrations, showcasing the impressive dynamics and innovative technology of the observation wheel in a compact and interactive way.

The model was produced using high-quality 3D printing technology and consists of multiple carefully crafted components. A technical highlight is that the wheel can rotate freely, and all 36 gondolas are individually movable. This functionality provides a realistic representation of the wheel’s operation and makes the scale model a powerful communication tool.

The original KC Wheel is an impressive R50SV Ferris wheel, 50 meters tall, in operation since December 2023 at Pennway Point in Kansas City. The wheel features 36 climate-controlled gondolas, including one VIP gondola, each accommodating six passengers. Additionally, it is equipped with a dynamic lighting system that beautifully illuminates the Kansas City skyline at night.

The scale model is mounted on a high-quality oak base, elegantly engraved with the Dutch Wheels logo and project details. This gives the model a stylish and professional appearance while providing a solid foundation. For protection, the entire model is covered with a custom-made plexiglass dome, specially designed for safe transport across the ocean to the United States. This dome offers optimal protection against dust, damage, and transport movements, ensuring the model arrives in perfect condition.

By combining detailed 3D printing, movable components, and high-quality finishing with oak and plexiglass, this scale model forms an impressive and durable presentation tool.
