We created ten detailed models of the Rotterdam residential building De Bund for BPD and Van Wijnen.
The models are 3D-printed in sustainable PLA and mounted on an oak base with engraved project details.
Each model showcases the architectural refinement of the building at a small scale.
The series is intended as a gift to the municipality of Rotterdam, as a token of appreciation for the collaboration.
The project combines modern 3D technology with artisanal finishing in a sustainable whole.

See how 28 holiday homes came to life in two detailed scale models! With realistic RAL colours, separate 3D-printed components, and authentic miniature landscapes, these models stole the show at the holiday homes fair. From pergola to palm tree – every detail is on point.

For the award-winning 5-star Hotel Thermen Berendonck, we created a detailed 3D-printed scale model as a token of appreciation for the construction partners. All balconies and ornamental arches were printed separately and hand-assembled to maximize realism. The original architectural drawing was fully adapted for printability without losing any detail.

For Sweco, we created a detailed show model of a water purification system, using colored plexiglass to clearly distinguish between dirty and clean water. Miniature figures denote the scale of the installation. The model was exhibited as a visually striking centerpiece at the Aqua Nederland trade fair.

For INNIC, we made a modular scale model of an apartment building in Horst, with each floor removable to reveal the building’s structure level by level. A functional and visually strong tool for design and presentation.

Commissioned by Submedia from Heerlen, we produced a detailed 3D-printed scale model of Hoensbroek Castle. Printed in a single color (light grey), the rich details of the castle—from towers to façade textures—stand out distinctly. The model is 26 cm tall and made from PLA. With its subdued hue and material, it exudes a subtle, almost architectural appearance that honors the castle’s historic character.

For Kalfire Fireplaces, we created a modular demonstration model consisting of three interchangeable parts connected by magnets. The logs in the model are made of real wood for a lifelike appearance. A compact and stylish presentation tool for the showroom and trade fairs.

For Ynno, we produced scale models of furniture and office components to present office layouts flexibly. The pieces were delivered in practical storage boxes and are easily portable, supporting interactive design and layout sessions on site.

For the Province of East Flanders, we developed a thermographic model that illustrates the effect of home insulation. Three 3D-printed houses, airbrushed in thermal imaging colors, show the difference between poorly and well-insulated homes. A powerful educational and awareness tool for energy efficiency.

For Dutch Wheels, we created a scale model of the 50-metre-high KC Wheel in Kansas City, complete with a rotating wheel and 36 independently movable gondolas. The model is mounted on an oak base and enclosed under a dome, used as a presentation piece at exhibitions. A technically and visually striking rendition of an iconic Ferris wheel.

For the circular SuperLocal project of Jongen Bouwpartners, 3D Maquettes designed a modular model that can be assembled step by step—from foundation to roof. Built-in magnets keep the components firmly in place, clearly and interactively displaying the construction process.

For INNIC, we made a volumetric model of Horst town centre in white PLA. The model sits on a paper map to clearly illustrate spatial relationships and infrastructure. An effective tool for urban planning analysis and public engagement.

For State of Architecture, within one week we completed a large-format model measuring 1 × 1 metre, assembled from multiple PLA-printed parts. The model was quickly and precisely constructed into an impressive whole. Perfect for design and exhibition purposes.

For the Friedesse Mill in Neer, 3D Maquettes designed a detailed model, complete with a protective dome and an oak information board laser-engraved with explanations and images. The setup brings the mill’s heritage to life for visitors. A valuable addition to the educational and tourist experience of this historic site.

For the Limburgs Landschap, 3D Maquettes produced a 1:1 replica of the WWII BMW 801 aircraft engine. The engine was fully 3D-printed in PETG plastic to withstand the humidity in the cave at Valkenburg where it’s displayed. Weighing around 180 kg, the model is an impressive tribute to a piece of overlooked history.

For Maurice Oostwegel, we created a miniature of Heerlen’s iconic “Lange Jan”, including its distinctive steps—of which he owns the topmost section. The model was used to persuade the city council to place it on a roundabout. Although the proposal was rejected, the miniature remains a unique tribute to the city’s mining heritage.

For Demarec, we produced two mini models of their demolition cranes at 9% scale, in the original company colors. The models served as eye-catching highlights at trade fairs, offering a realistic impression of the machinery in a compact format.

For Eco-Chalet BV, in just one week we created a detailed model of an energy-neutral chalet, complete with miniature furniture to enhance the sense of space. The scale model was displayed on a luxurious oak base and served as a showpiece at the trade fair. A powerful, tangible tool to present their sustainable concept.
