For VCK, we have carefully created a series of exclusive miniatures to mark a special business handover. To make this important transitional moment tangible for all employees, the iconic port terminal has been translated into a detailed scale model. The challenge: A harbour in the palm of your hand

Translating a vast, dynamic environment such as VCK’s port terminal into a miniature requires a keen eye for detail and proportion. A port terminal is characterised by enormous cranes, complex logistics and a specific layout. Our challenge lay in reducing this enormous scale to a manageable object, without losing the recognisability and industrial power of the location. By carefully selecting and stylising the terminal’s most iconic elements, a model has been created that immediately conveys the essence of VCK.

Innovation in design and production

The foundation of this project was a fully bespoke digital design. As every company is unique, we took the specific layout of the VCK terminal as our starting point. Using advanced 3D printing techniques, we were then able to produce a series that is consistent in quality and detail.

The use of 3D printing offered a major advantage here: it enabled us to manufacture complex industrial shapes — which would be extremely costly or impossible to produce on this scale using traditional techniques — with great precision. As a result, every employee received a gift that is not only a memento but also a technically sophisticated object that reflects the company’s innovative direction.
